PAROSTEC EXPANDS IN ATHENS BY UNDERTAKING THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE DOL HISTORIC BUILDING
Parostec marks a dynamic entrance in Athens’ market with the DOL emblematic building in Christou Lada Street, by undertaking the construction works of its restoration, following the vote of confidence from the German real estate development company ehret+klein in 2021.
The property offers an approximate of 3,500 square meters for lease and is situated on 1-3 Christou Lada Street, in the center of Athens’ Commercial Triangle, which is surrounded by Syntagma Square, Omonoia Square and Monastiraki. This commercial area is defined by historic monuments, art and culture, retail shopping, the vibrant city center and impressive administration buildings.
History has been made in this specific building since 1980, where DOL has been publishing “To BHMA” and “Ta NEA” wide circulation newspapers, as well as numerous popular magazines such as “Taxydromos”, “Oikonomikos Taxydromos” and others. At the same time, the building has been a meeting point of this country’s important cultural and political figures of the 20th century. Since 2004, when DOL changed its registered office, the building was underused and in 2017 it was completely abandoned and has remained empty ever since.
Parostrec, using its technical expertise and long experience, has committed to fully satisfy ehret+klein’s objective for an extensive renovation that will transform the space into a modern office building – guided by the principles of agility and sustainability; A building that will fulfill all business needs, meet the highest standards of sustainability, and be by means of function and architectural design harmonically incorporated in this bustling commercial area of Athens.
Co-founders of Parostec, George Kaggelis and George Oikonomopoulos, referring to this expansion, have stated: “Our market entry in Athens with this specific project marks a pivotal point within Parostec. We are very proud that ehret+klein has included our company in their network of local Greek partners and very happy for this collaboration. Our aim is to carry out the restoration of this historic building in Christou Lada Street the best possible way, in line with our company’s successful course”.
