Situated on the south coast of Paros, this private residence nearly seamlessly blends into its unique surroundings to suggest a continuation of the wild landscape and the horizon beyond. The integration of this distinctive architecture into the Cycladic setting is a testament to the architects’ sensitivity towards preserving the island’s natural heritage and respecting the agricultural past of the terrain. The two main built volumes on the upper side which accommodate all living spaces, were thoughtfully designed to follow the incline of the ground making the roof of the lower building integrate into the slope of the land. The strategic excavation around the houses creates shaded patios accessible by incisions that ensure privacy and protection from the wind. The primary material employed in the construction is local stone harmoniously connecting the residence to the natural environment. The swimming pool is placed at the lower point of the plot aligning with the view axis towards the Aegean Sea.
